Sunday, 4th July – ‘New Start, Same Mission’
Welcome to our virtual weekly worship service with Fleet United Reformed Church.
On Sunday we start a new chapter in our weekly worship at Fleet URC. Last week we said goodbye to our friends at Beacon Hill with whom we have been sharing worship for the past 15 months, and now we set out on our own once more. We had hoped to be able to start meeting together in church from this Sunday; however in view of the recent extension of national restrictions the Elders felt it was better to postpone this.
This week, therefore, we meet once more on Zoom; and this will be the case for the next few weeks. Our service today was led by Revd Ray Stanyon, Development and Support Officer for Wessex Synod North, who reminds us that at a time of needing to re-evaluate and even re-start our mission, it is good to know that God is with us into that future and to the end of time – and that the Gospel call to mission is in fact exactly the same as it ever was. He asks, “Is the Meerkat right when it says: ‘Simples!’?
This will be a Communion Service so please have a piece of bread and a small glass of juice/wine ready.
Thank you to Ray for leading our worship, and to Bee Griffiths who leads the responses.

You can now dial in to listen to the service. Please pass on the following information to anyone you feel might be helped by this (eg if they don’t have a computer). The recording will be available throughout the week.
The audio service is accessed by dialling this number: 01252 978350. You will hear a recorded voice say, ‘Welcome. The Fleet and Beacon Hill United Reformed Church Service will play shortly’; and then there is quite a long pause before the service cuts in. (Please be patient as this can take a while.) The cost of the call is your normal charge for an 01252 phone call.
