‘Footsteps’ is a group for children from approximately school age that meets together on Sunday mornings during term time. We enjoy sharing the first part of the main service with the whole congregation, and then we leave to explore the Bible using ROOTS resources. Younger children are very welcome to bring along their parent or carer to share in our time together. After a short period of discussion, activity and a Bible story, the children do age-appropriate crafts, activities, learning, further discussion, or Bible study.
ROOTS is a partnership of denominations and other Christian organisations who produce resources which are lectionary-based, and supply worship and learning materials for adults as well as for children and young people, with a huge library of online materials.
We aim to make Footsteps a fun and exciting time, and we encourage the children to share their experiences with each other. We also encourage them to take part in the monthly Communion service if they wish.
We are often actively involved with services, and assist with the weekly duties such as welcoming people into our church, giving out hymn books, and taking the offertory. Occasionally the children are involved in planning and leading all or part of a service themselves.
If you would like to know more, then you are welcome to join us on a Sunday morning; or contact the church administrator for more information on 01252 623629 (ansaphone – please leave a message).
