It was a wonderful occasion for celebration last Sunday when one of our young people, Katie Green, was confirmed during morning service. Katie is the granddaughter of Moray and Darrell Henderson, and has been coming regularly to our church since she was quite small.
In her statement of faith, Katie said:
“Hi – my name is Katie Green. I am 11 years old. I have been coming to Fleet URC with my Grammi and Doodah since I was young enough to be using the toy bags in the corner.
“I attend Loaves and Fishes as often as I can. I thoroughly enjoy learning about the Bible, especially the parables. I have chats with Moray Henderson (Doodah) about all of my questions.
“I felt I wanted to be a member of the church, but unfortunately I can’t because I am too young.
“Ruth suggested that I could confirm my faith by being confirmed. So can I ask all of you, as my church family, to encourage and continue to walk with me in my journey of faith. Thank you to all the people who have been with me from the start, and thank you very much, Ruth, for your support.”
Our congratulations to Katie and to all her family, many of whom came to the service to support Katie.
