Last weekend three of our young people – William, Melvin and Mahima – attended ‘The Big Speak Out’ in Nottingham, billed as a fantastic weekend full of fun activities, where young people would be exploring how to be ‘activists’ in their church, communities and wider world. The weekend was open to all 11-18 year olds associated in any way with the URC.
During the weekend the young people were encouraged to discover the issues they felt most passionate about through activities such as poster designing, song writing, drama, crafts, video editing, blogging and vlogging. They also had the opportunity to introduce to General Assembly the topics that were most important to them.
A total of 44 young people attended the event from URC synods across the country.
Congratulations, William, Melvin and Mahima, for your important contribution to church life.
