Sunday Worship for 19th July 2020 – Growing Together in Christ

We welcome you this morning and invite you to join us each week for worship at 10 am, wherever you are in the world. This week our service is conducted by Mrs Karen Smith, who is a lay preacher at Beacon Hill URC. The theme of the service is ‘Growing Together in Christ’.

Thank you to today’s readers, Kathy and Hugh Le Fanu, from Beacon Hill URC, and to Robert Mitchell for leading us in singing our closing prayer.

Our hymn this week is sung by members of the Virtual Church Choir Project, led by Newcastle Cathedral by permission.

You can now dial in to listen to the service. Please pass on the following information to anyone you feel might be helped by this (eg if they don’t have a computer). The recording will be available throughout the week.

The audio service is accessed by dialling this number: 01252 978350. You will hear a recorded voice say, ‘Welcome. The Fleet and Beacon Hill United Reformed Church Service will play shortly’; and then there is quite a long pause before the service cuts in. (Please be patient as this can take a while.) The cost of the call is your normal charge for an 01252 phone call.

URC Audio Service

Every Sunday the URC Daily Devotions team sends out a church service in both written and audio format. This has the feel of a radio service, and is in familiar URC style.

On Sunday Francis Brienen, our Deputy General Secretary for Mission leads us in worship as we consider the parable of the wheat and the weeds. We will sing Tim Hughes and Jonas Myrin’s Bless The Lord (10,000 Reasons), Bernadette Farrell’s Everyday God, John Newton’s ever popular Amazing Grace – this version is performed by Judy Collins and the Global Virtual Choir. We will finish with the rousing It is the Cry of My Heart by Terry Butler.

The order of worship is here, and the recording of the service is here.
