Palani Mission Spring 2023 Update
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done. Psalm 105: 1
‘We greet you all in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.’
With these words Revd John Abraham and Sheeba John open their recent letter to members and friends of Fleet URC, reporting that the Palani ministry is growing and has now enabled the spread of the Good News through 54 villages. Seekers and believers are being added regularly, and five new members were baptised at the beginning of March. Revd John asks for our prayers for all these new Christians.
Our sponsorship has enabled four houses from different villages to be repaired using corrugated metal constructed roofs, and this project is nearing completion. The homes will be used as local worship houses for the glory of God. Further sponsorship is needed to continue this valuable work.
Revd John reports that the two community nurses we are sponsoring are doing well and are good at their studies. Two new trainees will be selected to start their two-year courses in September 2023.
In addition to more roof repairs, there is a great need to help those who are experiencing hardship and cannot afford necessary medical treatment. In the past we have sponsored medical health camps, which people from far and wide have attended, and it may be possible to do this again.
Revd John says that words are not enough to express the Mission’s gratitude for our prayers and support. He finishes by saying, ‘From the depths of my heart I extend our sincere thanks and offer my prayers for you all. May God bless each one of you with good strength, Grace and Joy’.
