On Friday 11th May our church held a charity concert organized by Stephen Davies and his daughter Hannah and her friends, who formed a string quartet.
It was a wonderful evening, with organ music by Stephen and the string quartet playing some popular pieces, including ‘Air on a G String’.
Following the interval, with lovely refreshments, the second half included ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ and ‘Albinonis Adagio’, which was my personal favourite.
A special retiring collection was made in aid of Breast Cancer care.
I am sure that everyone really enjoyed the musical evening, and will look forward to the next one. A big ‘thank you’ to Stephen and all the musicians, as well as to all those who arranged the refreshments.
