Our latest curry evening in support of the Palani Mission saw over 70 members and friends gathered together once more to enjoy chef Saju Mathew’s legendary cooking. Guests feasted on a menu of Punjabi-style Butter Chicken, Channa Masala, Tandoori Spiced Salmon Fillet and Vegetable Pulao, all with delicious accompaniments, and followed by Saju’s Mango Pannacotta.
We were very pleased that Deepa and Johns could join us for the evening. Deepa is the daughter of the Revd John Abraham and Sheeba John, who lead the mission.
A raffle was held to boost the money from ticket sales, with the result that over £1,700 was raised for the work of the Mission in Tamil Nadu. This money will benefit the community in many ways, including the funding of young women to train as midwives or community nurses.
A big thank you to Saju and all the team for their hard work in ensuring that the evening was such a success.
