Saju Mathew’s curry evenings to raise money for the Palani Mission have become a fixture in our church calendar. They are enthusiastically supported by our church family and friends, and tickets sell out quickly. This year was no exception, and diners were treated to a varied menu of delicious dishes, including Tandoori Spiced Salmon, Buttered Chicken, Kheema Matar and Vegetable Pulao, along with the usual accompaniments. The food is always plentiful, and many takeaway meals were sold from the leftovers.
At the beginning of the evening, we received an appreciative message from Sheeba John, wife of Revd John Abraham, who leads the Mission, who said: ‘Praying for the Curry event, and for everyone associated with it. May God strengthen and bless the work of your hands. Convey our regards to all our dear Fleet members.’
A total of £1500 was raised, which will go towards the training of community nurses in Palani, and to a medical camp and essential repairs to homes before the monsoon season.
Our grateful thanks to Saju and his team for all their hard work in creating such a successful evening.
