On Friday night we held another of our regular Curry Evenings to raise funds for Palani Mission. These evenings are so popular that we had more diners than ever this time, and over 90 people enjoyed Saju’s mouthwatering menu of canapes, followed by a selection of delicious curries and side dishes – all rounded off by a dessert of vermicelli pudding and ice cream.
All the proceeds will go to the Mission, which is run by Revd John Abraham and his wife Sheebajohn. We were delighted to welcome their daughter, Deepa, and her husband Jons to our gathering. In addition, we enjoyed a rare visit by our retired minister Ruth Dillon, who was warmly received. Ruth initiated the partnership 7 years ago, and has visited Palani on two occasions.
The money will further the repair of houses in the area, and will enable much needed medical camps to treat those who cannot afford medical interventions.
